IH Belfast is very pleased to announce the launch of our brand new summer Young Learners programme for 2018 at the prestigious Campbell College Belfast!
Kicking off in July 2018, our new programme will be hosted at Campbell College Belfast. Established in 1894, it is one of Northern Ireland’s most eminent schools which occupies a 100-acre estate in East Belfast close to the Parliament Buildings at Stormont and even boasts its own lake and forest. Notable alumni of the school include C.S. Lewis (author of the Narnia Chronicles), Gary Lightbody of Snow Patrol, and rugby star Paddy Wallace. Samuel Beckett even taught at the school in the 1930s before leaving to pursue his literary career!
The programme is available to students aged 12 to 17 with a choice of residential or local homestay accommodation and will include interaction with local sports teams, drama groups and choirs. There are even plans to bring a Hogwarts flavour to the programme… the Sorting Hat will be busy!
IH Belfast director, Paul McMullan says, “We’re absolutely delighted to add the programme at Campbell for 2018 and for many years to come. The facilities on the campus are amazing, as is the single room ensuite accommodation. The catering is pretty spectacular too. The Campbell team are great people to work with, and we can’t wait to welcome students to the programme in July.”
The new teenage course was launched at the StudyTravel Alphe UK conference last week, with the traditional brochure being replaced by an immersive virtual reality (VR) experience in agent meetings.
IH Belfast has been running teenage programmes since 2008, and Campbell joins the SHARE adventure course and the main, year-round adult school in the IH Belfast portfolio.
