​International Travel And Tourism Management​

 

International Tourism is one of the fastest growing industries worldwide. This course is designed to provide the skills necessary to work in the industry at management level and succeed. The course consists of a combination of mandatory and optional modules that allow students to specialise in their second year, in areas such as Events Management, Sustainable Tourism Development and Cultural and Heritage Tourism Management.

Year 3 – BSc degree – Students enter the final year of their BSc Hons degree in International Travel and Tourism Management at Ulster University ​

This course combines a core of general business modules with a range of more specialist subjects such as Marketing, Human Resources Management, Entrepreneurship, etc. It is the ideal option for students looking for the widest choice of career opportunities in business management.

Accounting & Finance

 

Focusing on key subjects such as Management Accounting, Financial Reporting, Statistics and Taxation, this is a four-year course that prepares students to enter the workplace with all the professional and technical skills they will need to succeed.

General Information​

 

Entry Qualifications

In order to start a Level 4 BTEC Higher national course at IH Belfast, students need to have successfully completed a high school course programme (A’ levels, Baccalaureate or equivalent) and have a B2 level of English. Students who don’t have the required level of English can take an intensive English course at IH Belfast before the BTEC course begins.

 

Visas

Students accepted onto a BTEC course at IH Belfast will be classified as long-term, full-time students and should obtain the corresponding study visa from their country of origin. IH Belfast will provide sponsorship and help and advice with the application process.

 

Date

Courses run from early October to mid-June, with a short break for the Christmas and Easter holidays. We recommend that students arrive in Belfast at least one week before courses start in order to familiarise themselves with the city.

Accommodation

Students can choose to live in our brand new, city centre university residence or if they prefer they can spend one or two years with one oh IH Belfast’s famously friendly host families. Prices vary according to the type of accommodation but IH Belfast’s staff are happy to help each student find the option that suits them best.

 

Work Experience

One of the many advantages of taking a BTEC course is that students have the option to work in a local business for 2-3 months each summer. This work experience will help students understand the day-to-day concerns of managers and directors and will also enhance their employment prospects when they finish their studies. The work is normally unpaid, although students working in the tourist sector may be entitled to subsidized accommodation. Working hours vary placement to placement. There are no additional visa requirements for the work placement.
